Healthcare professionals feel pharma don’t understand their pain, or their passions. The truth is, we’ve lost sight of what’s important: the human behind the HCP. 62% of pharma brands miss their first-year forecasts, 46% due to poor customer understanding. We need to turn this around, by getting a clearer picture of HCPs, instead of relying on vague insights and fuzzy data. Point.1 has one mission: Understand the human behind the HCP, with data that actually matters. At the Academy, we were joined last week by the incredible Javeno Mclean – former professional cricketer, powerlifting champion, and now an award-winning exercise specialist and global advocate for inclusion through fitness. Known for his viral videos and life-changing work with the elderly, disabled individuals, and those with chronic conditions, Javeno is redefining what it means to empower others. In his Thought Leader session he reminded us that strength comes in many forms – and that care, gratitude, and opportunity can transform lives. His energy lit up the room, leaving us inspired to see beyond limitations and uplift those around us. ???? Click through to see more, and what Lynxers thought of the session.

What happens when you realise clinical practice isn’t the only way to make an impact in healthcare? Key Takeaways: ?? ?????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? - Vernon candidly reflects on the emotional and social challenges of stepping away from medicine, and the long journey to redefine his purpose. ?? ?????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????? - A chance meeting opened Vernon’s eyes to the power of communication, problem-solving, and creativity-skills many clinicians overlook in themselves. ?? ?????????????? ???????????? - From launching life-changing medicines to shaping public health narratives, Vernon reveals how healthcare communications can deliver impact at a scale individual practice often cannot. ?? ???????????????????? ?????????????? - Vernon challenges the myth of the five-year plan, advocating instead for curiosity, adaptability, and the courage to evolve into new roles beyond the clinical world. ?? “Serendipity isn’t random - it’s something you create by asking questions, building networks, and being open to risk.” ?? ????Climate change is like a cracked foundation beneath a house, it may not be visible at first, but it’s slowly destabilising everything built on top of it, including our health. The health of you and your loved ones is connected to climate, healthcare and the environment. This week, I was delighted to participate in a roundtable convened by Bayer and Forum for the Future during?London Climate Action Week. Dr Sally Uren chaired us towards bridging the gap to break silos and embed solutions into the DNA of every organisation. That means creating a more progressive and effective shared language for change (of course, I’m biased about that part) as well as common metrics and practices so that all business teams can align around a single, clear goal: a healthier, more equitable future. A fab mix of leaders across healthcare, sustainability, and corporate sectors from?Bupa, Chiesi Group, Economist Impact, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, GSK, Havas Lynx, International SOS, and the?Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) explored ways to deliver co-benefits for both climate and health. ???Key takeaways: 1. Our individual and collective health and economies are dependent on the climate and we need to communicate and connect more meaningfully to communities, providers, and industry. 2. Collaboration across sectors is essential to build resilience and drive strategic climate mitigations and adaptation. 3. There’s an increasingly strong business case for action: investing in climate-health solutions is not only ethical, it’s economically smart. Thanks for the invite and to everyone who contributed to such a rich and solution-focused discussion: Matthias Berninger, Emma Iovoli, Michaela Schrodt, Isabell Crasto De Stefano, Subashini M, Jonny Groome, Matt MacCalla MSc, MA, Dr Sheuli Porkess, Mar Soro, Amanda Stucke, MPH, Kristin Ruby, Clara Hesseler, Sophie Robins, Dr Anthony Renshaw, Dr Helena Clement. Let’s keep building the bridges between health and sustainability. A healthy future depends on it. #ClimateofHealth #Sustainability #LondonClimateActionWeek #HealthEquity #ImpactThatMatters #CollaborationForChange
